Nurses

We believe we have an excellent nursing team who provide a whole variety of services for our patients over a whole variety of times. Our experienced team of nurses consists of the following people:

Sister Susan Graham RN HV

Sue has worked with us for 15 years and is Minor Illness trained. She can see patients for a whole range of illnesses See Details

She has the full support of our doctors, can prescribe various items but the prescriptions are always signed by one of our doctors. Sue is also our Diabetic Lead nurse, undertakes infant vaccinations and will carry out reviews of patients suffering from depression.

Sister Ruth Wiggins RGN RSCN

Ruth joined the team as a Nurse Practitioner in 2010 and brings a wealth of experience to our surgery. She is a qualified nurse prescriber and will provide additional Minor Illness appointments and undertake reviews for patients with certain chronic diseases e.g. hypertension, heart disease and for those who have suffered a stroke.

Ruth is also able to provide a full contraception service for patients including the insertion of the contraceptive implant, Implanon.

Sister Lucy Harrison RN

Lucy has been with us for over 5 years and is a very experienced practice nurse having spent 18 years at her previous surgery. Lucy is our lead nurse for Asthma, Family Planning, Travel vaccinations and Warfarin monitoring.

Nurse Doreen Butterworth

Doreen has worked part time for us for over 5 years and provides services covering blood taking, dressings, ECG's, New Patient Checks etc. She is also a member of our District Nursing team.

Healthcare Assistant Helen Rourke

Helen has been with us since March 2008 and is experienced in blood taking,ECG's, New Patient Checks and various other routine nursing procedures. She is also responsible for our new Stop Smoking service.

All our nurses are here to provide both a comprehensive service to our patients and to support our doctors to ensure you receive the best possible service we can offer.
