Please note that Doctor and Nurse face to face appointments are for 10 minutes duration only and, ideally for one problem to be discussed. Should you feel you may need longer than this, please ask for a double appointment at the time of booking.
Additionally, telephone appointments are for 5 minutes duration only.
If patients can bear this in mind during their face to face/telephone appointment this will help the doctor or nurse to keep to time. Whilst every effort is made by the doctor/nurse to do so there are times when emergencies/unexpected patient problems will lead to unavoidable delays.
Appointments are currently available between:
8.30 a.m. – 12 noon and 4.00 p.m. - 6.00 p.m. Monday to Friday but excluding Bank Holidays. To help manage demand for routine appointments, some appointments are released two weeks in advance, some are released 48 hours ahead and a few are retained for release on the day.
Appointments are available Monday to Friday with the Duty Doctor for patients needing to be seen urgently on the day. We also have a specialist nurse (Sue Graham) who has been trained to treat certain illnesses and appointments are available with Sue on most weekdays.
Telephone Appointments
Our doctors are happy to discuss a particular problem with you over the telephone and provide advice accordingly, hopefully avoiding the need for you to come to the surgery unnecessarily. Specific times are allowed during the day for this purpose. However, the doctor may feel that you still need to come to the surgery as not all problems can be dealt with over the telephone. Please speak with our Receptionists if you require a telephone consultation.
