Children's flu clinics are taking place on Mondays 13th and 20th November and 4th and 12th December - again, please call the surgery to book. Children in Reception to Year 4 inclusive should have their flu vaccination at school - please contact the school nursing service on 01727 734026 to book.

NHS Health Checks are being offered to people aged between 40 and 74 once every five years PROVIDED you have not already been diagnosed with one of the conditions we will be assessing you for (see bullet point list below).

We will shortly be sending letters to those patients eligible for a Health Check inviting you to make a Health Check appointment at this surgery.

The check is to assess your risk of developing:

  • heart disease,
  • stroke,
  • kidney disease
  • diabetes.

If there are any warning signs, then together we can do something about it. By taking early action, you can improve your health and prevent the onset of these conditions. There is good evidence for this.

The check should take about 20 minutes and is based on straightforward questions and measurements such as age, sex, family history, height, weight and blood pressure. There will also be a simple blood test to measure your cholesterol level.

Following the check, you will receive free personalised advice about what you can do to stay healthy.

You can download a copy of a leaflet giving further information about the new NHS Health Check here
